What "no proof" means

Most consumer class actions are about something millions of people bought: a supplement, a phone, a subscription, a ticket fee. Nobody keeps those receipts, so settlements are often written to pay a flat amount to anyone who signs a sworn statement that they qualify.

"No proof of purchase" doesn't mean "no proof of anything". You still have to be in the class, which usually means a specific product, a date range and sometimes a state. Some forms also ask for a serial number, an account email or the notice ID that was mailed or emailed to you.

How to file a claim without proof

1. Check the class definition. Read who qualifies on the official settlement website: the product, the dates and any state limits.
2. Find your notice, if there is one. Search your inbox and spam folder for the settlement name. If the form asks for a Claim ID or PIN, it's in that notice.
3. File on the official site only. Settlement websites are run by court-appointed administrators. Filing is always free.
4. Pick a payment method. Many settlements pay by PayPal, Venmo, digital card or check.
5. Save your confirmation. Keep the confirmation email until you're paid, which is usually months after the deadline.

The rules you sign

Every claim form ends with a declaration that what you wrote is true. Filing for a product you never bought is fraud, and administrators screen for duplicate and fake claims. Settlements also limit no proof claims, for example to one per household or a set number of products. Claim only what's true for you.
